The perfect car seat for traveling parents
As a parent, I can tell you that it is an enormous pain to have to carry a car seat around. When you install it in the car, it’s done and that’s great, but if you’re going to be flying or taking a train, then you need to put the car seat in your vehicle, remove it, put it on the plane or train, and then install it in your rental car on the other side.
Let me tell you, they’re not light and if your baby isn’t light either, you’re stuck juggling a kid, a car seat, and carry-on luggage. Fun! Except, not really.

Which is why I know that this car seat had to be invented by a disgruntled parent. It’s a standard car seat that meets safety guidelines and fits in your car like any other car seat does.

The difference is that when you park the car, you can lift the whole thing, baby and all, straight out and pull up a handle and wheels, turning it into a mini-stroller. That’s incredibly handy - imagine how much easier it would be to wheel your way through a crowded airport instead of banging into people as you carry it in your arms?
It’s also convenient in other ways - it has some rear storage for your child’s necessities (crayons and paper, cup or bottle, baggie of snacks, etc). And let’s not forget the truth that all parents know - kids often like to fall asleep shortly before arriving anywhere, which leaves us with limited options, most of which involve a cranky and overtired child. With this kind of seat-turned-stroller, you don’t need to wake your baby up, you can just remove them from the car and push them around in the stroller version without waking them (hopefully!).
While it wouldn’t really replace a proper stroller altogether, it’s a nice little option for traveling, and let’s face it - the happier a traveling child is, the happier everyone around you is too.
You can get one for $249.

This is a great invention!! We’re not parents (yet), but I can already see how this would be awesome to have, especially if you do a lot of traveling with the kiddos.

I had some parents with this car set on a flight the other day.
A couple of caveats about it’s use — you need to remove the wheels before buckling it into the seat. This helps it sit properly to restrain your child — and, if you don’t the seat is to easily jammed and cannot be easily unbuckled. We took a significant delay (over 10 minutes) in order to relocate this car seat.
Handy, but remove the wheels!
