Shutterfly wants you to Hit The Road!
Shutterfly, a long-running photo publishing site, has taken travel by the hand, and they want you to Hit The Road this summer. With summer weather peaking, many families are still trying to do family road trips, despite the cost of gas. Hit The Road helps to give you some inspiration on destinations for this summer’s vacations, while also giving you a way to record your getaway story with photos.
It doesn’t matter if you’re taking what is now being coined as the “staycation” - a close-to-home getaway, or crossing state lines, Hit The Road gives you maps, photos, and commentary from other people just like you - it’s a great way to get some ideas on where to stop along the way or what’s of interest within a few hours of home.

It’s the fact that it’s loaded with photos that hooks me. Writing about a location is one thing, but really seeing what it looks like and what you’ll see yourself when you go is truly inspiring.
What’s extra fun is that once you become a (free!) member, you can upload your own photos and be entered into weekly promotions on the site, so while you’re sharing your travels to help someone else, you may benefit too.
Use Hit The Road’s maps to search by location, popular spots, tags, and interests to narrow down exactly what you’re looking for. They’ll even include ideas as to what you need to take with you and exactly how to get the best photos while you’re there.
If you’re traveling locally, be sure to check it out before you leave home!
