New York City - WiFi in the park

by Sherry on June 25th, 2007

If you’re heading out to New York City and you’d like to be able to enjoy Central Park while still being able to stay in touch with your clients (or perhaps you just want to send a photo of yourself in Times Square to your mom!), here’s some good news!

This site offers Google maps of Central Park, plus several other NYC area parks, showing a variety of free WiFi locations. For instance, this shot shows that you can get a WiFi connection at the Chess & Checkers / Wollman Rink area of Central Park.

What’s especially handy is that the site is regularly updated to let you know if the connection is currently active or not.

I can tell you that I would be rather content to lie on the grass in a park with a laptop and a WiFi on a lazy summer day!

If parks aren’t your thing, or you need more locations, you can also check out NYC Wireless for even more WiFi hotspots around New York City.

Happy surfing!
