Mail2Web’s global internet access
Mail2Web has come up with an alternative to what we currently have as options for worldwide internet access. Right now our options are to pay for pricey hotel access, pay for equally pricey WiFi, or hope you can find a free hotspot. While the last option is obviously cheapest, it’s only a viable option if you’re trying to get online for fun, say to send a picture of yourself on the beach in the Dominican Republic to your friends and family back home in the dead of winter. If you’re needing to be online for work reasons, you’ll need something more reliable.

Mail2Web has a global solution package that offers more than 60,000 Wi-Fi hotspots, access in 1800 hotels, 28,000 dial-up locations, and more than 7500 U.S. T-Mobile Hotspots .
The cost is still not as cheap as your own local internet access is, of course, but it’s looking better than what people have been paying on average until now. The service starts at $5.95 a month and then has a daily rate that varies depending on where you are at the time of access. Western Europe access is $36 per day, for instance. On top of the access points, you also get an SMTP gateway and tech support is available 24/7 so it’s really quite reasonable for the moment.
I have a feeling that this is a service that will continue to grow out of necessity and soon we’ll have several companies vying for the same market, at which point we’ll probably start seeing lower rates, but really if a company can afford to send you to Europe on business anyway, surely they can step up and pay your $36 daily in order to keep you in touch, yes?
