Keep your music up high
If you’re vacationing alone or like to take a morning jog on the beach while your traveling companion prefers to sip coffee by the pool, you might find yourself wanting to have some musical accompaniment from time to time. Most mp3 players can be hung around your neck or clipped to your waistband, but some people are annoyed by the banging around.
If you don’t mind the dork factor that comes with wearing a visor, you can get the iXoundWear cap. It holds your mp3 player up high in a tight sleeve on the side. It has a built-in spool that will keep your wires tidily wrapped out of the way (and out of sight), with only a little bit of wiring coming down to your earphones.
With this option you could probably even go waist-deep in the ocean or pool with your music if you feel confident that you won’t get splashed.
The only unfortunate drawback is that they’re only made to fit the iPod Nano or Shuffle, so if you have an mp3 player that is narrow, it won’t work. (If you’re handy with a needle and thread you could adjust it, but then again, if you’re handy with a needle and thread you could probably make your own altogether.)
There are a variety of styles starting at about $16.
