GPS for the sky
There are a lot of people who use GPS in order to find their way to their destination. But what about GPS for the sky? This will bring a whole new perspective to a camping trip, let me tell you. I have a telescope and a pair of binoculars. They’re great - if you know what you’re looking at. Otherwise it’s just a bunch of pretty stars and when your five-year-old starts hounding you about constellations and all you can find are three, well, it’s amazing how kids can make you feel pretty dumb.

So whip out the MySky GPS Star Tracker. I would love so much to test drive one of these. Looking somewhat like something out of Star Trek, you can point the MySky up at the night sky (though you can do it in the day as well, it’s just less exciting since you can’t see any of the stars) and you’ll be able to find out what the heck is up there. You can identify constellations or other heavenly bodies (get your mind out of the gutter!), take a guided tour of what is visible from your current location, or locate, via menus, a specific object.
I wish I could test it out and let you know exactly how well it works!

That reminds me of the thing used by the rebel soldier in the first Star Wars movie to track Han’s ship as it landed on the planet…it has a very futuristic look to it.
