Get some laptop privacy!

by Sherry on August 31st, 2008

laptop privacy screenI have to tell you, I really don’t think you should be doing your online banking or shopping eBay with your credit card if you’re sitting out in a highly public place or in an airplane. However, even if you aren’t doing anything highly sensitive, even if you’re just working on a presentation outline or blogging, you might want some semblance of privacy. After all, no one wants a nosy person leaning your way and asking what that picture is on your screen.

The 3M Privacy filter is a reasonable solution to your problem. It comes in a variety of sizes to fit many different laptop screens. It slips on and stays in place after you close your laptop so it’s always ready. Then, when you use your laptop, it only allows you to see what is on your screen if you’re sitting directly in front of it. Anyone to the side will only see a blank screen.

Now granted, if people aren’t very tech-savvy, they might think you’re a little crazy, sitting there and typing away at nothing, but that’s okay. As long as they can’t see that you’re actually emailing someone back home to tell them about the nosy person sitting beside you, it’s all good!
