Gas up with GasBuddy for your road trips
I found yet another Google Maps mash-up that I love. Or maybe it’s that love to hate phenomenon since it involves gas and the price thereof.
Either way, if you’re planning to hit the road at some point this summer, despite the soaring gas costs, at least you can try checking GasBuddy which is an add-on for Google Maps. Depending on your departure location and your destination (and everywhere in between if you’re driving a particularly long distance), you can find which gas stations have the cheapest gas prices close to you. If you have to fill up anyway, you may as well avoid that one gas station that charges more than the others, right?
Please don’t get angry at me for the cost of the gas though - remember I’m just the messenger!
We’re actually canceling one day trip we had planned on, driving to Ottawa and back to take in some museums, just because our gas here is so expensive. Instead we’re sticking close to home, visiting a waterpark 30 minutes away, going to a local petting zoo, and checking out other family-friendly activities here in our own city. Is the price of gas affecting your vacation plans this summer?

Could be cool. The price of gas has just made our CHOICES of sites/places a bit more valuable as they once were. I’m not going to go somewhere for the sake of going. It has to mean something.

Ryan - I know what you mean, you just can’t get into the car and drive off somewhere without thinking about why you’re going.

Ohhhhhh that’s too bad, Ottawa (and I) will miss you… Where do you live? Next time the gas prices go down, I’d love to meet you and your family!
