Enormous Swiss Army Knife - a solution for everything
I have a knock-off Swiss Army knife that I keep in my bag at all times. It has a knife, corkscrew, toothpick, tweezers, nail file, screwdriver, and two or three other things that I can’t recall now. It cost me 20 bucks.
On the other hand, if your travel emergencies call for a little more than just opening that bottle of wine or pulling a splinter out of your foot, and you don’t mind dropping $1200 on a knife, you can get this gigantic, 8-inch Wenger’s Giant Collector’s Swiss Army Knife. It weighs an entire two-plus pounds and comes with 85 tools. Seriously, 85 tools in one knife!
While it’s extremely cool, I can’t help but wonder how much time you would have to spend looking for the tool you want. “Here are the scissors! Uh, no, wait, that’s the pliers. Here! No, wait, bottle cap opener. Hang on, I’ll cut you down from that tree in just a second, I know the scissors are in here somewhere!”
It’s not for the minimalist traveler I suppose, but the huge dork in me is thinking I *need* this knife. Too bad it’s waaay out of my budget!
