For those of you who are unaware, I’m Canadian, and this is our Thanksgiving weekend. Technically, it’s on Monday, but most people celebrate on the Sunday with a big family dinner, so on behalf of Geeky Traveller, I wish all my fellow Canadians a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I love when people think things through and ask themselves, “How can we take something great and make it even better?” That’s exactly what Frommer’s Travel Guides have done. I’ve used many different travel books in the past, including Frommer’s and they’re incredibly handy. They provide you with maps, listings, must-see locations, usually even some basic phrases if language is a consideration.

I wouldn’t exactly classify this as a gadget, but it’s almost as much fun as one! Minimus is a very handy website for people who travel – they offer mini travel-sized version of all kinds of products that you might want to bring with you, wherever you’re going.
