Bring your oven
I’ve mentioned I’m a camping fan right? Well now you can make your camping experience a little more civilized. See, I really like cooking food over a fire or on a little hibachi with old-school charcoal. But if that’s not your thing, and you’d really like a nice roast on your camping trip, you might be interested in this new portable, fold-up cloth oven.
No, seriously. Taiwan Textile Institute has developed this special material that allows for heat temperatures hot enough to roast meat without catching on fire itself. It folds up nearly flat and weighs almost nothing so it won’t add any noticeable weight to your backpack. They demonstrated the new oven at an exhibition in Taipei, and since it’s only a prototype right now, it’s not currently available, but it may be on shelves as soon as next year.
