Peace of mind with a travel door alarm

travel-alarm.jpgI’ve never traveled alone. When I’ve traveled it’s always been with my family, a group of friends, or my husband. Being with someone else gives you a little sense of security. However, if you have to travel alone, especially if you’re not sure about the area in which your hotel is located, you might get some peace of mind if you bring along the Belle Hop Travel Door Alarm with LED Flashlight.

It’s simple to use – you slip it over your hotel door and activate it. If anyone tries to open the door, it will emit a loud, high-pitched alarm. If nothing else, it will probably scare away the intruder, and it will definitely wake you up. It should be noted though, that one reviewer stated that if there’s a gap in the door at all, that the alarm can fall out and cause false alarms.

I’m not sure how much I would really use something like this. I probably wouldn’t feel a need to use it in a good hotel, but if I was on a long road trip and staying in questionable motels, it might be very handy and let me get a good night’s sleep.

Would you use a door alarm on your travels?

I am female and I travel alone quite frequently. I usually stay at a good but not extremely expensive hotel/motel. I am used to it and I’m not generally squeamish about it. But traveling to cities you’ve not visited before means staying at places you have not seen before. I have ended up in a hotel/motel that I might not have booked if I had known it’s general location when I made the reservation. I would use something like this on every trip. Thanks for posting this one, I’m off to purchase.
