Let TripIt create your full itinerary
If you’re mildly disorganized (you know, like me. You should see my desk!) then putting together a proper itinerary can be a bit of a disaster. If you find yourself armed with five print-outs of flight, hotel, car rental, and visiting information on top of a piece of notepaper with your own chicken scratch scrawls all over it, you might end up wonder what you’re actually doing, when you’re going, and how you’re ever going to find your way there.
That’s where a brilliant site like TripIt comes in. They use (don’t laugh) something they like to call the Itinerator (maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger can advertise for it!) to take all your trip information, organize it, and hand it back to you in a simple, easy-to-follow itinerary.
This is brilliant to me. I studied in a Travel & Tourism program and I was good at almost everything except having to create itineraries. This site would have saved me a great deal of migraines for class projects. All you have to do is go to their website, send them everything about your trip, from flights to hotels to rental agencies, and they will give you back the only information you need to carry around so you’re only referencing one file instead of juggling multiple papers.
On top of that, they’ll sweeten the deal, so to speak, by also adding the weather forecast (if available) for your destination during the days of your trip, some maps, directions to the hotel and more, plus some city gangs.
If you’re traveling in a group of people, you can even have the file sent to everyone you’re traveling with so everybody has identical information.
And if you’re a serious business type of person, you can get everything sent to your mobile device AND get it synched up to your calendar. How cool is that?
How much? Ahh, my favorite price: Free. Happy Tripping!
