The Geek factor for dating in Vegas
There are a lot of reasons to go to Las Vegas. You can check out The Las Vegas Adventurer for proof of that.
However, tech-type geeks looking for love on their travels will soon have another reason to go. Microsoft is going to launch their new Microsoft Surface at the Rio hotel - the i-bar so to speak. It’s a set up of six tables where guests can play games, flirt, send messages to each other, and order drinks from the bar.
You can do the bar equivalent of online dating right there at the table but instead of wondering if the person you’re chatting up REALLY looks like Angelina Jolie you can glance over and see for yourself.

What do you think? Is it worth booking a flight?

This sounds like a great idea… with the exception of the “dating” aspect. I’m just worried about the amount the “security” issues that can come up with linking cameras throughout the casino. What about the “hacking” that can take place? Who is spying on who? I’m really worried for this, but it’s a great idea like I said before.

I don’t see a security issue here. People going into iBar are doing so with the understanding they can watch other tables, and other tables can watch them.
The iBar cameras are most certainly available to casino security (as are hundreds and hundreds of other cameras all over a property like The Rio).
However… just as you can split a TV feed (like putting a splitter on your cable line to run it to both your TV and your computer), I’m guessing there is zero connection between the iBar network and the general casino network.
One of the first things that was probably brought up when this idea was first floated was keeping the integrity of casino security cameras untouched. That is one area gaming properties don’t mess around with
