Ease your travel stress with an airport spa
While traveling can be a joyous thing, often the actual act of getting there can be a source of stress. If you’re fretting over your arrival time after discovering your flight has been delayed by a couple of hours, you can be a bundle of knots and nerves by the time you actually manage to get on board.
Everyone knows you can buy yourself a martini at the airport bar, a couple of novels or magazines in the bookstore, or an overpriced shot glass in the gift shop. But did you know that, depending on the airport, you might be able to unwind and calm down with a massage or a mani-pedi combo at the handy airport spa?
Imagine all the other passengers getting on board, bitter and harried, while you practically float to your seat, completely soothed from a quick relaxation massage on the other side of the terminal.
I didn’t even realize that this was an option (and it turns out my own airport doesn’t have one yet) but what a brilliant idea. Someone heading out on a much-needed vacation might be pretty relaxed already, but if you’re jittery over a big business meeting in Hong Kong, a spa visit might be exactly what you need to chill out for a bit, and doubly so if you’re a nervous flier. And if nothing else , it can give you something to do when you get stuck with a four-hour layover in Chicago’s O’Hare airport!
Before you head out, check this list of airport spas and see if there’s one you can use!
