Business travelers want greener travel
While checking out one of the Travel Channel’s newer blogs, Traveling the Green Way, I was interested to see that a survey showed more and more business travelers are seeking ways to travel in an environmentally-friendly manner. For instance, about 69% of business travelers always turn out the lights and 31% adjust heat or air conditioning to a lower level of energy consumption when they leave their hotel room, 34% purposefully seek greener hotels, and up to 38% do online research to find environmentally sound places to stay on their travels.

Unfortunately, studies have shown that even some hotels that claim to be earth-friendly aren’t really as green as they say they are:
One in five (20%) say that they have stayed at a hotel that didn’t allow them to be as green as they wanted to be, while approximately 30% say they requested that sheets and/or towels not be changed but the hotel changed them anyway.
When you travel, do you think about the environment? Do you seek out green hotels that use energy efficient utilities and safe cleaning products? Does it matter to you or has it not occurred to you to ask?

i just wanted to say that although i definitely agree with the intentions of the article, i would like to see more articles on responsible traveling rather than green. Green relates only to environmental issues while responsible or sustainable traveling engages with social as well as environmental issues.
