Gmaps Pedometer

Who says you need a car to use Google Maps? You can be eco-friendly and walk while using the very interesting Gmaps Pedometer to keep track of your walking. While this would be useful for any walking/running fitness plan at home, it could be kind of need to track where you walked while you’re on vacation.

Although it doesn’t connect to an actual pedometer (give it time though – I currently own a USB pedometer that uploads my daily steps to a fitness site so with Google’s innovative nature maybe it’s a feature they’ll implement in the future!), you can go to the site, enter in your area, and then use your mouse to drag around the map, covering your walk. The site will then let you know your total distance walked, as well as about how many calories you burned if you enter your weight.

Fitness on the road!
