Text To Pee in Finland!
Here’s something interesting – if you don’t have a cell phone with you while taking a road trip in Finland, you may have trouble finding a bathroom. Due to vandalism, thefts, and arson attempts in public washrooms, the Finnish Road Administration has come up with an interesting way to access the toilets and showers that are available to road trippers.
If you want in, you need to send an SMS message from your phone to the number listed on the door of the washroom. You text the word “OPEN”, then a buzzer sounds and the door will open.
Why does this help prevent trouble? Because everyone’s cell number is logged if there are damages discovered.
Sucks if you don’t have a phone or can’t get a signal though!
