Keep track of your work schedule online

These days, more and more people are relying on online schedules and calendars to keep track of appointments, meetings, and other such things. When you’re traveling, having a good online calendar is an invaluable resource because it means you don’t have to worry about carrying around a proper agenda with you – or worry about losing it!

Google Calendar for easy schedules while traveling

There are several good ones, but if I was asked to recommend some, I’d have to first go with Google Calendar, because the honest truth is that I love everything Google. Google could put out toilet paper and I’d use it. The Google Calendar is easy to use, simple to access, and allows you to share it with friends, family, and co-workers as needed. And that doesn’t mean that your cubicle-mates can see when your son has a doctor’s appointment; you can set up a specific calendar for office duties, then a separate one for family.

You can also try out Famundo which is better laid out for families. It can help keep everyone synced up so you don’t schedule a trip away during the softball tournament or set a birthday party on the weekend you’ll be away on business. This is the one I use most because of the fact that I work freelance from home – it keeps me organized for all my duties while also reminding me of school bake sales and routine doctor check-ups.

Also, GeekSugar pointed me to a new one, called WhichTime, which looks very much like your basic old school paper agenda, but with the ease of an online system. You can download it to your computer and sync it up to software like Outlook or you can use the online version for easy access anywhere.

Travel is exhausting and distracting, so having a good online calendar is key to keeping yourself organized no matter where you’re hanging your hat tonight!
