Beam It Up, Scotty!
Generally speaking, most people have advance notice before they travel, but depending on the nature of your work, you may be suddenly called upon to throw a few things in a suitcase and high tail it over to the airport. Or, if you’re like me, maybe you’re a really big procrastinator when it comes time to actually start preparing to go somewhere, and you find yourself rushing at the last minute.
Beam It Up Scotty is a great application that will allow you to upload files from your computer to your cell phone. Actually, not only that, you can send the files to any cell phone, so someone back at the office can quickly send you that important document that you forgot to take before the big presentation on the other side of the country.
You can optimize audio or video as well, but no more than five minutes. Once you upload your file(s) to the app, it notifies you via SMS with a link to the direct download – you have one month to download before the links become invalid.
Best of all, not only is the service fairly easy and quick, it’s free, and you just can’t beat free!
