The B5Media network:

ooVoo keeps you face to face

Many people will be traveling this holiday season in an effort to visit family and friends to celebrate. The unfortunate downside is that not everyone can get together with all the people they love at the same time, no matter how extensive their travel plans may be.

ooVoo offers up a free videoconference of sorts, letting people get together face to face (so to speak) with others all around the world. The site is currently in beta mode but you can download the software completely free of charge and get started. If you or your loved ones don’t have a webcam or headset, the site also offers up a store to purchase whatever equipment you’ll need, or you can just pick them up at your nearest electronics store.

It might be a good way to keep in touch during the hustle and bustle of holiday frenzies, whether you’re traveling or not!

(I kind of like saying the name. ooVoo. oooooooooooVooooooooooo. It’s kind of like meditating!)

Hey man, that’s a super great review of ooVoo, especially since it really does help people get together for the holidays. There is a lot of great stuff coming up from ooVoo — and I know because I am here on ooVoo’s behalf. Let me know if your readers want advance access to the ooVoo Mac beta or if there is anything else you need — just let me know!

Good idea, but how it’s different from other available programs like Skype etc?
