Tourist Remover

This is possibly one of the coolest pieces of free software that I have ever seen and I seriously want to go take some pictures specifically to try it out myself.

One of the most common annoyances involved in trying to take pictures of tourist-laden hot spots on your travels is the very fact that it’s incredibly difficult to GET the pictures without all the tourists in them unless you go in the off-season.

Tourist Remover will help you out after the fact. All you need to do is take several shots of the same location, say a building. Once you’re at a computer, upload them to Tourist Remover and follow the instructions. The software will then take your photos and blend them together to create a seamless single photo while removing all the superfluous people.

It sounds hard to believe, but if you check out the gallery on their site you’ll see all kinds of examples of before and after shots. It’s truly amazing and you’ll never have to curse about the string of people walking in front of your camera again!

I will need to try this out. Often in Washington, DC, it is impossible to take a photo or one of the great sites or memorials without at least a few tourists in the pic.
