All-in-one dash entertainment

Road trips can be long and boring once you get past the initial excitement. I once drove (well, as a passenger) from Montreal to Halifax, and then back again four days later. It was hellish because I was also rather pregnant but even without that added discomfort, it would have been one long and tiring drive.

If you need to take a road trip, you can try to entertain yourself with license plate bingo or you can just get something like this In-Dash DVD/TV/AM/FM/MP3 stereo.

You can use it to listen to radio, tune in to your favorite TV show (as long as it broadcasts on a local channel) on the 3-inch screen, watch a DVD, or listen to your own mix of MP3s. A nice touch is that the faceplate comes off so it doesn’t scream “hey, come on in and steal me!” to anyone who might walk past your car while you’re snoozing in a motel or eating at IHOP.

For 80 bucks you get the stereo with a remote, a filter, and a fuse box cable.

Particularly if you have kids, it could possibly save your sanity.
