Virtual keyboard

I desperately want one of these for no good reason – I just want one because it’s cool. Thinkgeek offers up a virtual keyboard that uses a laser to project an actual image of a QWERTY full keyboard on to pretty much any flat surface. You can hook it up to your cell or Blackberry so that you are using a tiny device to send email or IM without being stuck with the tiny keyboard. It even has a simulated key clicking sound if you need to reassure yourself that you’re actually typing. Meanwhile, the device that projects the laser beam is very tiny at only 3.5 inches high, and the battery (which is rechargeable, naturally) will give you about two hours of non-stop typing time. It works with PalmOS5, PocketPC 2003, Windows Smartphone, Symbian OS, and Windows 2000/XP. Unfortunately it currently only has limited Mac OSX support.
It’s not cheap at $179 but it would be worth it if you need to aggravate yourself with a wee keyboard on your PDA while on business travel. And also, hey! It’s a LASER keyboard, and that’s just awesome!
