Silly but fun
Here’s a little travel item you can get for yourself that may be a little on the silly side (and possibly dorky too, but then again, look at the name of this site, what do you expect, right?) but it’s also useful.
Most hotels offer a safe that you can use to leave your important items like money, extra traveler’s cheques, and other etceteras, but not everyone is comfortable leaving valuables behind at all. Of course, some places may not even offer the possibility at all, especially if you’re saving money by staying in hostels or motels.
Reef “Stash” sandals offer a pull out drawer on the sole where you can put anything valuable that is small enough to fit inside. You won’t have to worry about leaving things behind, nor do you have to be completely screwed if someone grabs your purse or nicks your wallet. The sandals are for women, but honestly, they look non-gender-specific to me, so men could likely get away with them too, especially in black.
I don’t know if I’d really want to walk around with my passport in my sandal, but I could see it being a handy (“footy”?) solution if you have limited options!

Those are cool, whenever I travel and need a safe hiding place a shoe is always my first thought as I think who would want to stick their hand in a strangers shoe!!
