Bring your bike along

If you’re a biking fanatic, you’ve probably thought about bringing your bicycle with you when you travel. If you’re going by car and have a rack it’s not that difficult, but what if you don’t have the rack? What if you’re traveling by train or plane? A bike is big and takes up a lot of space, but on the other hand, it could save you some money if you can ride around your destination rather than relying solely on public transit, expensive taxis, or car rentals.
The A-Bike Folding Bicycle is one compromise you could try out. It’s light-weight at approximately 12 pounds, and takes up little storage space. Unfolded, it resembles the letter “A”, hence the name, and it’s able to support riders between 4′9″ and 6′3″ and up to 187 pounds. Despite its unconventional appearance, it handles just like any other normal bicycle, but with its 3-click telescopic mechanism, you can fold it up into a compact easy-to-carry and easy-to-store package in just ten seconds.

You can read the full specs here and can order one for approximately $313.
I would love to hear some personal experiences if anyone here has ever tried one out. In the meantime, here’s a neat little promotional video of it in action – it looks dorky, yet strangely fascinating at the same time!
