A flashlight for campers
Since it’s still summer here in Montreal (and sweltering hot and humid, thankyouverymuchUGH), my brain is still stuck in the world of camping. When I used to go camping with my dad when I was a kid, I remember trying to pick my way to the bathroom down a rocky path with a little flashlight. It was the kind everyone had, the black handle with the little bit of red plastic wrapped around the glass. It worked well enough, but it was inevitable to find myself tripping over a root I hadn’t seen or nearly walking into a low-hanging branch while I was concentrating on the ground.
Enter the Nightlighter Flashlight. When they call it Nightlighter, they aren’t kidding. Rather than your basic straight-bodied flashlight that sends out one beam of light straight ahead, the Nightlighter attempts to light up more of the world around you. It offers up two separate beams of light; one large beam that points straight ahead to give you a good view of where you’re going, and one wide-angle beam of light aimed downwards to show you what may be lying on the ground.
Not having to constantly swing your flashlight all around you in an effort to avoid stumbling is a good enough reason to spend the very reasonable $29.95 price tag. If you add the fact that the design of the body is extremely ergonomic, it’s a definite must-have for campers. As a bonus, it’s not a travel-only gadget; it would be just as handy at home if you need to take the garbage out late at night, walk your dog, or just about any time you ever need a flashlight around the house.

this is exactly the flashlight to have! not just for camping too, but you know how when you’re walking in the dark and you do need to see not just the way ahead but exactly what you’re stepping on. so where can one get this?
